So I got your e-mails about Black Beans 'N Rice and the big question is why won't she say "YES" Hell gimmie the hook up and I will call the brotha myself and tell him that I will marry him! Some of you have even volunteered to pay for the wedding. There were also those that expressed times were a little hard and City Hall would do just fine for now. (And I ain't mad at 'chu for saying)

You all have had me crackin up! Ok look so here's the deal... you know I can't tell you the "why" so you will have to wait for the book and it's coming in about 6 to 8 weeks, but what I can answer for you is this. If you think the excerpt was hot wait till you read the book. The story is cutting edge and takes off right from the very first page and ladies and gents I want you to know I did not disappoint. You might wanna get 'yo cigarettes handy two packs just to be safe... a cold towel, a spray bottle and a nice bucket of ice cubes to stick your feet in as you relax in the chair, bed, closet... you know where you get 'yo groove on!

I would like to touch on something with you guys regarding abusive relationships. After all that is what the story is about, escaping an abusive relationship and finding real love for the very first time.

Abuse can be physically, emotionally or both and is felt just the same. No one should ever be allowed to take away your physical or emotional being and use it to demean you. Unfortunately I share this experience with a lot of you out there and I want you to know that I am worthy and so are you. Step away from that fool and move on with your life. I know that's easier said than done but know this...

The past must never be forgotten, that's how we're able to learn and to grow.

Look back and remember the things that helped to make your lives what it is today, and teach others so they may do the same. There's no shame in having gone through our life experiences.

The tragedy happens when we're unable to let go.

Y'all holla back and lemme know your thoughts on the abuse thing and how you feel one should go about changing their lives to get out of the situation.

Lookin forward to hearing from you!

* I thought this post would be better served over here in the forum section instead of the Buzz so I brought it over here.  Y'all know I am no computer wiz so i had to bring the comments that followed over as well and the only way i knew how was to copy them... lol don't be laughing, it worked!

You are so correct Savannah... prayer is definitely needed because when you are in a position like that you just can't see your way through. But I am here to tell everyone find the strength to leave what ever type of abusive situation you are in and have the courage to let go! It doesn't have to be that way... there's so much to live for and a whole lotta life to enjoy. We are here for you and other folks like us too so know that you are not alone. It's up to you and only you to take that first step. You'll be surprised what kind of doors will open up for you.

Savannah I thank you for sharing.

You are welcome. I know a couple of people who are in abusive relationships, they won't hear my words but I pray daily for them that their eyes be opened and that they know they are worth so much more.

Well, I've learned that some people never feel worthy of anything better, so they stay regardless of how we try to help them see the abuse. I asked my sister the Psychologist why some folks stay and she said because some people don't feel that they can make it on their own and others are so beat down that they won't even try to make it out of an abusive relationship. But still we have to keep praying for them that God will open their eyes and give them the courage to stand up for themselves and move on.
